Syringe Pump and Symptom Management
Essential training for all Nurses and Medical practitioners who use a syringe pump as part of their role.
The aim is to teach delegates the theoretical and practical skills required to safely and effectively use syringe pumps.
The course will teach delegates the importance of ensuring the machine is set up correctly before administering any medication through them.
- Recognise when a syringe pump is indicated
- Drug conversions and an understanding of common drugs used
- Assessment and management of breakthrough pain
- Loading procedure of the syringe pump
- Recognise the common alerts and alarms and their meanings
- The importance of good communication skills.
