This is an 8 week programme for adults with a progressive, life-limiting illness.

There will be a theme/ topic each week.

Our aim:

  • To promote wellbeing and empower the individual to live well.
  • Supportive group and environment.
  • Opportunity to ask questions in a safe space.

You can be referred by one of our Specialist Palliative Care Nurses, GP or other healthcare professional. You can also self-refer here.

Find out more about our Wellbeing Programme here.

These are activities available to both our Inpatients and Wellbeing patients.

They include Art and Crafts and Therapeutic Group Work, co-ordinated by our Creative Therapist and supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.

These sessions are more than just fun; they remind our patients that they are people and not just an illness.

  • Creating art and self-expression through colour and other media is enriching and therapeutic
  • They create opportunities to learn and develop new skills and hobbies and rekindle independence.
  • Each piece of artwork is lovingly created and treasured, often becoming a family heirloom.Ā
  • Many of our patients have a limited dexterity and level of social engagement. Working in a group encourages talking, laughing and distraction from their worries and concerns.

We offer a range of therapies and treatments, including:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Massage
  • Indian Head Massage
  • HEARTS Process
  • ReikiĀ

Complementary Therapies are offered to our Inpatients and Wellbeing patients every day. We also offer therapies to relatives and carers if we have availability on the day.

Complementary Therapies may help patients with symptom control, including nausea, pain, fatigue, stress, anxiety and sleeping difficulties.Ā

These promote relaxation, reduce stress and improve overall wellbeing. This is important for our patients and those who care for them.
