Our Care
We are a 16 bedded purpose-built facility offering specialist palliative care to patients and their loved ones from diagnosis to end-of-life. Our Hospice is embedded in the local community. We provide a range of services led by a multi professional team and are supported by volunteers. We provide care from the Hospice building and out in the local community.
All the services we provide to patients and their loved ones are free of charge. We rely on the support of donations from our local community and raise money through fundraising activities, shops and lottery to ensure there is no charge for our care.
Any adult living with a life-limiting illness within Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale who requires palliative care may be able to access our services.
We also provide support to loved ones through our bereavement services.
Referrals are usually made via your Consultant, GP or District Nurse but we also accept self-referrals for our Wellbeing Service.
Patients will usually need to be referred to Springhill Hospice by a healthcare professional. The forms are then sent to nehgm.liason@nhs.net

The Hospice actively welcomes family and friends and encourages participation in caring for their loved ones, if they so wish, whilst they are in the Hospice.
There are no restrictions on visiting times or how many can visit at a time, however it is noted that too many visitors can be very tiring for some patients and at these times we ask visitors for their co-operation and understanding in this matter.
There are also no restrictions with regards to children visiting, in fact we actually openly encourage this but we do ask that all children under the age of 16 are supervised at all times.
If you need to speak to a staff member about a patient in our care, please ring 01706 649920 and ask for the Senior Nurse on duty.
