Offering Specialist care advice
What is your 24-hour Advice line?
Our 24-Hour Advice Line is run by our Nurses and offers specialist cancer and palliative care advice, information and support for patients and their carers.
Our Nurses are specially trained in palliative care and are able to give both emotional and practical advice.
Who is the Advice Line available to?
- Patients
- Loved ones
- Carers
- Any healthcare professional involved in a patientās care (eg District Nurse of GP)
How does it work?
If you are known to the Hospice
When you contact us, our team can refer to your hospice records to help the nurse responding to your call provide the most appropriate advice for your situation.
Where necessary, relevant information may also be shared with outāofāhours doctors or district nurses who may need to visit you.
All patient information is held securely and treated confidentially. Information is only shared with professionals directly involved in your care.
If you are not known to the Hospice
You are still welcome to contact us. We will always do our best to offer general advice or guidance. However, as we do not hold any clinical information about you, we may need to signpost you to another professional or service better placed to support your needs.
How do I access the Advice Line?
Please call us any time on 01706 653555.
In the event one of our nursing team is unable to answer your call, please leave a message with your name and number and they will return your call as soon as possible.
