Light Up a Life 2026

Through our Light Up a Life appeal, you can celebrate the memory of your loved one and remember the special times you shared in a truly meaningful way. 

When you dedicate a light, your loved one’s name will be displayed on a star from the 3rd December until 10th January on one of the Hospice’s beautiful Christmas Trees.

By supporting Light Up a Life, you will not only be remembering your loved one, but you will help Springhill Hospice to continue to care for local people and families when they need it most.

This year’s events:

• Thursday 3rd December – St Chads Parish Church Service 
  Your loved one’s name will be displayed as part of a video that will be played before and after this service. We will share a moment of peace, and you can light a candle to remember precious moments with your loved one. 
• Saturday 5th December – Hospice Outdoor Celebration 
  This is a time to view your loved one’s name, which will be displayed on the Hospice Christmas Trees, and light a lantern in their memory. We will share songs and readings, and there will be refreshments served indoors after the celebrations, where you will also have the chance to view our Light Up a Life video that will display your loved one’s name.
• Monday 7th December – Hospice Drop-in Celebration (indoor) 
  This is perfect for people who want to remember their loved one in a quieter environment. The Drop-in Celebration will take place inside the Hospice building. There will be a selection of mindfulness activities, candles to light and refreshments to enjoy.

• At all of the events you will also have the chance to write a meaningful message to your loved one on seeded paper that will be composted and planted in our beautiful Hospice Gardens.
