Springhill Hospice is building a new volunteer-driven handmade brand to help raise funds for palliative care across Rochdale. We call it ‘Handmade Heroes'.
Entirely supported through donations and volunteer hours, we want Handmade Heroes to represent everything Springhill is proud to represent: Quality, Comfort and Care.
All our goods are made to exacting standards, with quality, approved materials and clear labelling. Our packaging is eco-friendly and the finished goods are worthy of any high-end retail outlet.
Could you be a Handmade Hero?
We are looking for talented volunteers to help us make a specific range of products we can sell in our shops under the brand. There would be some rules, such as working to fixed patterns and with specific yarn types, but we are also happy to listen to our volunteers about great things they could make for us.

Whether you're a maker or not, you can help build our Handmade Heroes brand into something wonderful. All making is done for free by our volunteers but we would like to help them by supplying the yarns and other materials.

Could you directly supply our materials?
For labelling, approvals and quality assurance, we have a selected range of materials our Handmade Heroes can handcraft our products from.
If you are a retailer who can supply us directly or a maker that wants to buy our specific yarns the next time you are shopping at your favourite craft supplier, we are happy to take your donations as long as they are unused, complete with the supplier's label and from our approved list (see below)
