Education and training

Welcome!

The Education Team are based at Carders Court in Castleton. This spacious and superbly equipped education facility allows us to offer further support and education to those that work in the health & social sector.

Our education unit boasts 2 large classrooms (large enough to host classes of 25 comfortably), a well-equipped library and a practical skills room with equipment to assist with mandatory training, additional courses and learning. The unit has no steps and male, female and disabled toilets.

We’d love to show you around – pop in and see what we have to offer!

Our mission
Health and social care staff must demonstrate kindness as well as the skills, confidence and the application of knowledge in the care of those with Palliative Care needs. We endeavour to facilitate a culture of care that is compassionate, recognises the individual needs of the person and their families, as well as being open and transparent.
We understand that learners have different levels of ability and learning styles. We make every effort to assist attendees to enjoy and expand their knowledge and skills whilst attending our sessions.
The Education Team are committed to making the sessions interesting and useful, by encouraging group discussions, practical tasks and reflections.
We can assure you that the learning environment is a safe space and that each delegate has an equal opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills. We promote person centred care by providing learner centred education.

Additional Support for Students
Springhill Hospice's Education Team welcomes students with additional support requirements and/or disabilities and will make every effort to support their needs. The program has been designed to incorporate a variety of ways in which you can access the information you need to undertake learning around each topic, and we will support you to complete the program. If you require any additional support or guidance please contact us and we will do our best to support you with your learning experience.
