Co-op Local Community Fund

We are thrilled to say that for 12 months, starting October 2023, we are one of Co-op's Local Community Fund organisations.

For Co-op members (card holders), this means that if you select us as your charity of choice,  you could be helping raise more money for Springhill.

The number of members that choose to support our cause will determine the final amount we receive in November, so the more supporters that choose, the better!

All you have to do to help is:

  • Sign up for your Co-op members' card
  • Choose Springhill as your cause
  • Shop as normal!

Co-op approved our bid to be part of the initiative based on our drive to fund 70 hours of care:

“We want to fund 70 hours of vital psychological and supportive care for those in your community who are having to come to terms with a diagnosis of a life limiting illness.

The diagnosis of a life limiting illness can be a tremendous shock, shifting our sense of safety and security both physically and emotionally. The treatment for cancer and other illnesses can be debilitating and raise issues around loss and adjustment. Depression and anxiety are very common problems, not just for patients but also for their families. Therapy can help to see problems clearly and help to work through worries and concerns in a private and confidential ‘space’ without judgement. Providing free, vital psychological and supportive care to those dealing with emotional distress as a result of a life limiting condition has become a lifeline for hundreds of people living in Rochdale, Heywood and Middleton. We step in at the start of the diagnosis journey, right until the very end.”
