Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disabilities and Autism – Tier 2
The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Tier 2 Training aims to save lives by ensuring the health and social care workforce have the right skills and knowledge to provide safe, compassionate and informed care to autistic people and people with a learning disability.
This training is named after Oliver McGowan, whose death shone a light on the need for health and social care staff to have better training. The Health and Care Act 2022 introduced a statutory requirement that CQC-registered providers must ensure their staff receive learning disability and autism training appropriate to their role. The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training is the standardised training that was developed for this purpose and is the preferred and recommended training for health and social care staff.
Our Oliver McGowan Facilitators, Jane and Pauline, have been delivering this training for a number of years and are extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. They are both registered Oliver McGowan Facilitators and are recognised by NHS Workforce, Training and Education.
This training is recognised by the CQC as being mandatory training that all those who work in Health and Social Care should complete.
We co-present the training with experts who have lived experience of Learning Disability and Autism. Real-life examples and years of expert knowledge make Springhill Education the perfect place to complete this training.
