Stand out Starlight Ball!

On the 5th of October we held our Starlight Ball at Rochdale Townhall in honour of our 35 year anniversary. We saw some glamourous outfits and some terrific tailoring as our guests arrived, welcomed with a glass of bubbly (or a mocktail) and a brass band courtesy of Rochdale Music Services.

Hosted by the charasmatic Cole Page, the ball put on a show with live performances from Coronation Street star and Springhill patron, Susan Davaney and the Soul’d Out Band, plus Cole himself gave us a song or two. We had Turner’s Dance studio perform two impressive routines and Ian Lavin, the close up magician provided entertainment throughout the night up close an personal with our guests.

We had some very special and emotional speeches from Sam Wells – our CEO, Rugby legend Kevin Sinfield and Lesley Mort – our Head of Trustees, which really puts into perspective how much Springhill Hospice means to the community.

We had some fabulous prizes up for auction, from Peter Kay tickets, signed football shirts and lots of goodie hampers; there was lots of bidding and plenty of winning!

The Starlight Ball was the biggest one yet! The support and donations we received were second to none, and we are proud to say that it raised £71,250 for Springhill Hospice! The most successful one to date!

We want to thank everyone who played their part in making the Starlight Ball the triumph it was, it’s a night we will never forget!
