Morrisons Foundation fund more chairs
The Morrisons Foundation has generously awarded Springhill Hospice a grant of £9,810 to purchase 3 Rise and Recline chairs and gel cushions.
We were visited recently by the Morrisons’ Rochdale Store Manager Ben Nicol, Becky Barton People Manager, and Emma Pedgrift Community Champion who came to see a demonstration by some of our nurses on how to use the chairs purchased through the Morrisons Foundation grant.
We are thrilled to say that now every patient room in our Inpatient Unit has access to a new Rise and Recline chair, which provides comfort and dignity to patients with a life-limiting illness.
Springhill’s Chief Executive Samantha Wells says,
“Springhill offers palliative and end-of-life care to adults in Heywood, Middleton, and Rochdale. Our mission at Springhill is to make every moment count. Hospices are facing a real funding crisis due to both inflation and the cost-of-living crisis. The knock-on effect of this is that only essential costs are being met. We are therefore so grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for this grant as the chairs will undoubtedly add to the comfort of patients at the Hospice.”
Thank you to The Morrisons Foundation from us all.
