Springhill Hospice Volunteers

Volunteers undertake many duties throughout Springhill Hospice.  Cover is provided from 9.00 a.m. - 9.00 p.m. seven days a week, 365 days per year. There are around 300 volunteers who are easily recognisable wearing their red tabards.

As well as carrying out duties in the kitchen and ward area, they are also involved in flower arranging, reception duties, Day Hospice and driving.

After the initial enquiry, all volunteers are asked to complete an induction programme within six months.  This is to make them more aware of Hospice philosophy and introduces them to policies and procedures.  Also covered on the induction day is:-
